Compliance with accessibility requirements

The following digital accessibility requirements have already been taken into account and successfully implemented in the design and development of this website:

  • Screen reader compatibility: The website uses a correct heading structure and meaningful ALT texts so that screen readers can interpret them. This makes the information available to users with visual impairments.
  • Keyboard operation: The website can be controlled entirely via the keyboard, so that people who cannot use a mouse can operate it without any problems.
  • Contrast: Text and graphics have sufficient contrast to the background, which improves readability for people with visual impairments.
  • Forms: Forms on the website are clearly labeled and provide understandable instructions, making them easy to use for people with cognitive impairments.
  • ALT text: All images on the website have meaningful ALT text that is correctly interpreted by screen readers, allowing users with visual impairments to fully perceive the information.
  • Links: All links are clearly labeled, which facilitates navigation and improves user-friendliness for people with disabilities.
  • Buttons: All buttons are clearly labeled so that they are easily recognizable for screen reader users and the accessibility of the website is ensured.

Market surveillance authority

To implement the German Accessibility Improvement Act, the federal states have agreed to establish a joint market surveillance authority. The basis for this is a state treaty that provides for the establishment of a central office based in Saxony-Anhalt. The authority – provisionally named “Marktüberwachungsstelle der Länder für die Barrierefreiheit von Produkten und Dienstleistungen” – will be responsible for monitoring accessible products and services in future. The state treaty must still be ratified by the federal states before it can begin its work. Once ratification is complete, the details of the market surveillance authority will automatically be included in the accessibility statement.
